Stowe, Vermont Fall Elopement

Sarah and Jason’s elopement, complete with their adorable baby Chandler, was everything you’d want for a Stowe, Vermont elopement. There was stunning fall foliage, they shared their day with a handful of loved ones, and finished their time in New England with a dreamy family session on Cape Cod beach shores (but that’s a story for a different day).  So take a peek at how their elopement day looked and get some tips for your own elopement in Stowe!

Getting Ready at Spruce Peak Lodge Condo

Coming here all the way from Texas, they started their day at Spruce Peak Lodge Condo, a gorgeous mountain lodge. It made the perfect backdrop for Sarah and Jason, and little Chandler, as they prepared for the big day.

Ceremony at Stowe Recreation Path Gazebo

Sarah and Jason exchanged vows along the Stowe Recreation Path, a serene 5.3-mile path that meanders through Stowe’s iconic rivers, fields, and woodlands. Their ceremony took place at the picturesque gazebo on the river walk, surrounded by golden leaves and the gentle sounds of the river nearby. The Rec Path is especially beautiful in autumn when the trees showcase brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows!

For couples planning a Stowe, Vermont elopement, the Stowe Rec Path generally doesn’t require a permit for small, intimate ceremonies like this one. However, if you’re planning a larger gathering or setting up décor, it’s always a good idea to check with Stowe’s Parks & Recreation Department just in case.

Elopement Photos Along the Stowe Rec Path

After the ceremony, Sarah, Jason, and baby Chandler took full advantage of the beautiful Stowe Rec Path for their elopement photos. This path, lined with iconic New England foliage and rustic bridges, offered plenty of scenic spots to capture those post-ceremony moments.

Are You Planning a Stowe, Vermont Elopement? Here’s Some Recommendations!

Where to Eat

  • Matterhorn (Stowe) –  This spot is a local gem for those looking to unwind with delicious pizza and sushi (yes, sushi!). The poke bowls are a personal favorite, and it’s an awesome choice for craft beer and cocktails too. Great for a laid-back vibe and tasty food after a day of exploring.
  • Vermont Artisan Coffee –  If you’re like me and need that morning coffee kick, you’ll love this place. It’s perfect for a quick breakfast grab, and I am seriously obsessed with their sausage roll – it’s the best way to start your day!
  • Hen of the Wood Restaurant – This is one of the more upscale dining options and it’s hands-down one of my favorite spots for a special night out.

  • Shelburne Museum – Close to Shelburne farms, this is a super family-friendly walk through an outdoor museum that features historic buildings (and a steamboat).
  • Visit Woodstock. This quintessential Vermont town is worth a visit on either side of your elopement. Explore charming shops, visit the local park, and check out the Woodstock Farm to see cows and get those cute Vermont vibes!
