Iceland Wedding photography

Iceland Elopements

Romantic, cinematic, a little wild—and totally you.

I’m Renee—

Iceland‑obsessed elopement photographer (and your #1 hype queen)

I blend guided, done‑with‑you planning with true‑to‑color, cinematic imagery. I’ll scout locations, build a breathing‑room timeline, and keep the day grounded so your real moments can unfold. Videography with Ryan is available as an add‑on.

Where to Elope in Iceland

South Coast

Black‑sand beaches (Reynisfjara look‑outs), sea stacks, arches, waterfalls within short drives.

I build location plans around safety, access, season, and Leave No Trace.

How to Elope in Iceland

01

Choose your season + experience

Winter (Nov–Mar): short days, Northern Lights potential, snow/ice logistics.

Shoulder (Apr–Jun): longer light, fewer people than peak, variable weather.

Late Summer–Fall (Aug–Oct): rich tones, active wildlife, more availability than midsummer.

02

Decide legal vs. symbolic

Many couples handle the legal marriage at home for simplicity and do a meaningful vow ceremony in Iceland. I’ll help you plan either route.

03

Pick your region(s) + access

We’ll match views to comfort level: no‑hike overlooks, light trail strolls, or 4x4‑assisted adventures.

04

Permits + permissions

Some locations require permits, advance notice, or have protected areas. I’ll point you the right direction and keep our plan compliant.

05

Vendors + timeline

Hair/makeup, florals, picnic boards, private chef, 4x4 transport—we’ll assemble a small but mighty crew and build a timeline with buffers.

06

Weather backup

I maintain flexible plans and offer adjacent‑day options when my schedule allows.

When to Elope

Sunrise reigns for privacy, calm wind, and the most flattering light—especially along the South Coast and popular lookouts. Golden hour near sunset can also be dreamy; we’ll pick based on your region and forecast. Weekdays are your friend.

Season notes

Aurora seekers: aim for dark‑sky months (roughly Sept–Mar), stay flexible on night‑of timing.

Waterfall‑rich greens: late spring through early fall.

Snow‑kissed drama: winter with proper gear/vehicle planning.

The Quick Answers

Do we need a 4x4? +

Not always. Many locations are accessible by standard car in summer; some regions and seasons strongly benefit from 4x4. I’ll advise you. Don’t forget to ask me about rental insurance.

What about guests? +

Absolutely—small groups welcome. We’ll pick spots with parking, safer footing, and short walk‑ins.

Weather scares me. What if it rains? +

We build weather‑smart timelines and have alternates. I also offer adjacent‑day flexibility when possible.

Can you fly a drone? +

In some places, yes—subject to regulations, weather, and site‑specific rules.

Are pets allowed? +

Iceland has strict rules; most travelers don’t bring pets. If this is a must, we’ll discuss logistics.

Do you take last‑minute bookings?+

Yes—if I’m free, I’m in. Weekdays have the best odds.

Do you offer videography?+

Yes—add Ryan for cinematic film coverage that pairs with your gallery.

My Iceland Travel Schedule

I’m in Iceland every year during May, August, and September.

Current booking windows:

May

shoulder‑season calm, long light, early greens, flexible South Coast/Snæfellsnes.

August

stable weather, late‑night glow; South Coast, Highlands (as open), and Snæfellsnes.

September

moody skies, thinner crowds, early aurora potential; South Coast and East/North options.

If your ideal date sits inside these months, I can usually align my route to you. Ask for exact date ranges.
